How to Use a Castor Oil Wrap: A Step-by-Step Ritual Guide
Share
Castor oil wraps have been used for centuries as a natural wellness ritual and for good reason. When done consistently, they can support lymphatic drainage, ease muscle tension, improve skin hydration, and create a deeply relaxing self-care moment. Here's everything you need to know to get started.
What You'll Need
- CastorSpell Certified Organic Castor Oil
- A CastorSpell Waist & Body Wrap or Neck & Eye Wrap (OEKO-TEX certified)
- A warm, comfortable place to rest for 30–60 minutes or even overnight
Step-by-Step: How to Do a Castor Oil Wrap
Step 1: Choose your area
Decide where you want to apply the wrap. Common areas include:
- Abdomen/waist: for digestive and lymphatic support
- Neck & eye area: for relaxation and skin hydration
- Joints: for localised comfort
Step 2: Apply the castor oil
Pour a generous amount of castor oil onto a bamboo bleach free pad or organic cotton material pads for the longevity of you wrap.
Don't be shy you want good coverage. For the abdomen, use approximately 2-3 tablespoons.
Step 3: Apply the wrap
Place your CastorSpell wrap directly over the padded area and secure it comfortably. Our wraps are designed to be adjustable and oil-proof, so no mess on your clothes or bedding.
Step 4: Rest & relax
Leave the wrap on for a minimum of 30 minutes, ideally 60–90 minutes or overnight. Use this time to rest, meditate, read, or sleep.
Step 5: Remove & wipe down
Remove the wrap and gently wipe away any excess oil with a warm cloth. Your skin should feel deeply nourished and soft. You can use the pad a few times before discarding and starting fresh with a new clean pad. This helps the longevity of your wrap.
How Often Should You Use a Castor Oil Wrap?
For best results, aim for 3–4 times per week. Many of our customers do their wrap ritual before bed as part of their evening wind-down routine.
